I'm wondering if NVDA has a sleep moe, like JFW, where you can have it run in some programs but not in others? If so, how is this done? I'm especially interested in this for when I play games. I'd hate to have to quit the screen reader and then to have to start it up again.

Hi.
When i play games i usually press caps lock+2 which terns off the speaking of typed characters.
So it won't keep saying space etc.
If you want to stop the speetch compleetely you can press capslock +s and nvda will say speetch mode off.
If you press it again it will say speetch mode beeps and if you press it again it will say speetch mode talk and it will go back to normal.
Hope it helps.
If capslock doesn't work try insert
